In a world of text messaging, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Facebook and the other variants we have for social media, communication is becoming more and more of a lost art. My device has this really cool app called “phone.” I use this app more than most other from what I can tell. To me there is something about hearing a voice where I can pick up happiness, angst, sorrow, joy and many other sounds from another human. Occasionally I hear someone in tears… that’s when I’m especially happy I called.
Some say they text because to avoid interrupting someone. Most phones have a really cool feature called ignore. Ignore isn’t an app you need to install… It’s pre-installed. If I’m talking to someone there is zero-chance I will answer the call unless it’s from my wife or one of my children and then you can bet I’m answering it. I enjoy it when people tell me they tried to get a hold of someone and when pressed they say they’ve texted them three times already. Text is NOT communication. When it matters make a call. It’s how the world works.
I communicate at lot with newsletters and I encourage you to do the same. With rare exception everything you get from me was written by me and encompasses my thoughts and opinions on business, marketing and the world we have in front of us. It would be an insult if I had someone I don’t know and who knows nothing about me or my relationship with my readers and clients to attempt to speak for me. You get my occasional misspelling (thank you Rosy for helping me fix this) and random thought I want to communicate. I work hard to only send things of potential value.
I’m convinced the next 24 months will reward people who are willing to actually communicate. When things get even a little difficult the cream always rises to the top and this will be no different. The businesses who did well during the pandemic never stopped communicating and it paid off for them. Communication always has a pay off! If you are falling short in your ability to communicate and connect let’s talk. Don’t text me however… Call me at 520-910-4800
My name is Steven Clauson. I coach people who want help getting where they want to be. The people I coach are typically already taking action, getting results and ask what’s next and what actions to take to make an even greater impact. They aren’t afraid to ask for help. How can I help you? What actions are you taking? Those who have a plan and implement that plan lead the pack. Planning, preparing to win and taking appropriate action means you hear the word “YES” more than ever. Only if you are one of the few willing to take action, do what’s required and play full out are you likely to hear the word yes more often. People hearing the word “YES” are winners on the playing field because they play full out and dominate. For these people results matter. Tired of results less than you know you can produce?
